Dr. Steve Chung received the B.S. (with the highest honor) (1973) from the National Cheng-Kung University,Taiwan, the M.Sc. (1975) from the National Taiwan University, and the Ph.D. (1985) from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, all in electrical engineering. His Doctoral thesis was guided by the well known CMOS inventor - Prof. C. T. Sah in the Dept of Electrical and Computer Engineering, University of Illinois. Dr. Chung is a Professor of the Electronic Engineering Dept. at the National Chiao Tung University. He has over 22 years of teaching experience in the universities in Taiwan, as well as 3 years of working experience in Taiwan industry. His current teaching and research interests are in the areas of deep-submicron CMOS device technology; characterization and reliability study of CMOS/flash memory devices and circuits; Spice device modeling; numerical simulation and modeling of submicron and deep-submicron MOS devices, SOI devices, non-volatile memories and TFT's; and TCAD. He has published more than 110 technical papers in the above areas and holds more than a dozen of US and ROC patents. During 1989-1996, he received excellent research award, and during 1996-1998, was granted an Outstanding Research Award from the National Science Council, Taiwan. He is a Senior member of IEEE. Currently, he serves on the committee of Symposium on VLSI Technology and also the Chair of IEEE EDS Taipei Chapter.
