Christian Rembe received the diploma of physics (1994) from the University of Hanover, Hanover, Germany. He earned the Ph.D. (1999) in electrical engineering from the University of Ulm, Ulm, Germany. 1999 he joined the Berkeley Sensor & Actuator Center at the University of CA, Berkeley as postdoctoral research engineer with support of a Feodor-LynenScholarship of the Alexander von Humboldt-Foundation and a MacKay-Lecturer Fellowship. For his work about high-speed visualization of dynamic processes in MEMS he received the Promotionspreis (Ph.D. award) of the Ulmer Universitdtsgesellschaft and together with Eberhard P. Hofer the Landesforschungspreis (research award) 1999 of Baden-Wiirttemberg for applied sciences. His research interests include microelectromechanical system (MEMS) characterization, modeling, and simulation as well as the connection of MEMS measuring facilities to a new high-speed Internet (SuperNet).
