Norbert Seifert received the M.S. and Ph.D. in solid state physics from Vanderbilt University and the Technical University of Vienna, respectively. His doctoral research involved the study of defect formation in wide bandgap materials under space-like conditions. He has conducted research in charge-transfer processes at North Carolina State University and in computational fluid dynamics at the Technical University of Vienna as a postdoctoral associate from 1993-1997. He joined the Alpha Development Group within Digital Equipment Corp. (now Compaq Computer Corp.) in 1997 and since then has been active in the fields of compact modeling, device physics and device reliability.
