Mr. James graduated in 1971 with the Masters in microelectronics and semiconductor devices from the University of Southampton in England. He has spent 25 years working in the process development, design, manufacturing, and packaging of MOS integrated circuits for the computer, consumer electronic goods and telecommunications industries. He joined the Chipworks team in 1995 as Manager, Microstructural Characterization, and is currently Senior Technical Advisor. As Senior Technical Advisor he acts as an internal and external consultant to Chipworks staff and customers, responsible for microstructural characterization and process analysis. Mr. James worked for Philips Semiconductor (then Mullard Ltd.) in the UK prior to joining Northern Telecom, and has held positions as Process Development Engineer, Project Manager, and Line Manager. In addition, he spent five (5) years with Revenue Canada working with the Scientific Research and Experimental Development tax credit program, and acting as Senior Scientific Advisor to the Dept. He is a member of the Electrochemical Society and the IEEE.
