TRANSPORTATION

Ground transportation via taxi from the airport to the San Jose Marriott is available. Daily parking is available at the San Jose McEnery Convention Center and at the Marriott Hotel. Local parking facilities are also available within easy walking distances and at lower daily fees. The Marriott Hotel is located in downtown San Jose close to the "light rail" transportation system. Local attendees may want to consider using this mode of transportation and its remote "Park and Ride" facilities.  Directions to San Jose Convention Center describe how to get there.  AVIS is the official car rental provider to the IRPS. 

HIGH SPEED INTERNET ACCESS

The IRPS is proud to announce that free high speed internet access throughout the San Jose Convention Center.  All IRPS attendees will be able to access the internet via WiFi throughout the conference.  Access to high speed internet connections was the most requested item from the 2004 IRPS.  The Management committee of IRPS 2005 worked hard to provide free access in the convention center.  Information on the connectivity in the Convention Center is located at: (SJCCnet information).  The conference-provided free internet access will be in the Ballroom Concourse and Concourse 1 areas with some coverage in the meeting and exhibit space. 

If you would like to surf the internet outside, San Jose is one of the few cities in the world that offers free wireless internet access in the downtown area (San Jose Free WiFi).

CONFERENCE ACTIVITIES

The 2005 IRPS will be the Ballroom A complex and meeting rooms B through E with the exhibits in Exhibit Hall 1. Information on the tutorials, technical program, workshops, poster session, and the 2005 Year in Review can be found on the IRPS Homepage. The Preliminary program is on line in pdf format. 

The tutorials will be held all day Sunday and Monday in the Convention Center as will the Technical Program and the Year in Review. 

The Poster Session will be held on Tuesday night in the Marriott ballroom (see below for reception information).

The Exhibits will be held in Exhibit Hall 1 adjacent to the technical program activities.

COMPANIONS' PROGRAM

The IRPS is pleased to offer a Companions’ Hospitality Suite, for spouses and guests of IRPS attendees, open Monday through Thursday, 8:00AM to 10:00AM. For more information on location please see the (San Jose Marriott) Hotel monitor.

TUESDAY EVENING RECEPTION

This year, the Tuesday event will be a wine tasting with the poster session.   Woodside Vinyards in Woodside California will be providing the attendees with samples of their favorite wines.  Hors d'oeuvres will be served throughout the evening and a string quartet will provide music to discuss posters by.  Wines from Woodside will be available for purchase at the reception but, due to local restrictions, will be shipped to buyers after the event.  The poster reception/wine tasting will run from 7:00 - 9:00 pm on Tuesday, April 19, 2005.
