LOCATION

The 2007 IRPS will be held in the new West Building of the Phoenix Convention Center, directly across the street (2nd Street closed to traffic notice)from the headquarters hotel, the Hyatt Regency Phoenix:.

Most of the technical sessions and the equipment exhibit will be held on the upper ballroom level of the convention center west Building. The conference registration desk, speaker audio-visual prep room, etc., will be located on Level 2. Wireless internet access will be available in the common areas of the convention center at no charge to attendees.

HOTEL REGISTRATION:

The headquarters hotel, the Hyatt Regency Phoenix, is located directly across the street from the convention center west Building on Second Street. (Warning: Main drveway and Regency Garage is closed 4/5 to Sunday 4/15. Use Monroe St entrance. Guests will be able to access this door from First Street.)
This full-service hotel has a fitness center and outdoor pool.

GETTING THERE:

Phoenix is served by the Sky Harbor International Airport (code PHX) which is only about three miles (five kilometers) from the center of Phoenix. 23 airlines provide nonstop service betwen Phoenix and 89 cities in the United States, and 17 cities in Canada, Mexico and Europe. Almost unique among airports, free wireless internet service is available in the airport, on both sides of security, in retail areas and near the gates at the airport.

A taxi ride from the airport to the Hyatt Regency Phoenix will cost approximately $20-25 plus customary 15% tip. SuperShuttle also provides transportation on a regular schedule (no reservation needed) for approximately $7 each way, plus tip. To take SuperShuttle, collect your luggage follow the signs for ground transporation to the outside section marked "VAN SERVICE."

SPECIAL EVENING ACTIVITIES:

Tuesday evening - WORKSHOPS

Workshops covering a range of reliability topics of current interest will be held in the rooms along the Arcade on the street level of the convention center West Building from 7-9 p.m. on Tuesday evening. Pizza and beer will be served. Sign up for the workshop topic of your interest on-site and/or contact Phil Bechtold [pfbechto@us.ibm.com] for suggestions and to volunteer as a moderator.

Wednesday evening - POSTER RECEPTION

All conference attendees should plan to participate in the poster session which will be held in the large Atrium area on the street level of the convention center West Building, beginning at 7 p.m. on Wednesday evening. The poster session is an integral part of the symposium, where 68 technical papers will be presented and everyone can mingle. Food and wine will be served.

COMPANIONS' PROGRAM

The IRPS is again planning to offer a Hospitality Suite for spouses and guests of IRPS attendees, open Monday through Thursday, 8-10 a.m. in (**room to be announced**) in the Hyatt Regency. In addition, group tours or other activities will be arranged for spouses and guests of IRPS attendees (go to this link for more information).
