Sufi Zafar received her Ph. D. in physics from Syracuse University in 1991. She works at IBM TJ Watson Research Center, Yorktown and her current research focus is in the area of high k/metal gate dielectric stacks. She has published over 60 publications including 32 first author publications and has 16 issued/pending patents. She is a fellow of American Physical Society (APS).
