This application is arranged to search by: (subject) index, author index, corporate index, chronological paper index, tutorial history, and glossary of acronyms.
Indexes are keyed to a coded five-digit paper number. The code for the paper number is: the first two digits identify the year of the symposium, and the last three digits identify the page number on which the paper begins.
The alphabetical listing of search terms (Section 1) can serve as a look-up table. Benefits of scanning this table are: (1) the researcher can develop a search strategy by serendipitous association, and (2) the likelihood of overlooking a highly relevant citation is minimized.
Section 2 is the alphabetical list of terms with citations. (All the indexes are alphabetical.) Next is the Author Index with citations followed by the Corporate Index with citations. The citation includes the paper number and the paper title. The title being included provides a convenience for possible quick selection of the most appropriate paper and eliminating those not applicable without back and forth look-ups. Additional papers from 1980 to 1984 are included only in the Author and Corporate Index besides those from 1985 to 1997.
Section 5 is arranged by paper number in ascending order. This section includes citations (authors & their corporate affiliations), the title of the paper, and an alphabetical list of all the index terms applied to the particular paper. A profile of the paper content can be deduced from the index terms.
Best Paper [BPA] and Outstanding Paper [OPA] awards are indicated in the paper titles. Searching (Ctrl+F) on [BPA] will identify the Best Paper winners.
